Prague, Czech Republic – Orange Poland and the Czech Republic’s Pilsner Urquell brewery (Plzensky Prazdroj), along with Russia’s Nornickel have won the Deloitte Green Frog awards for the best integrated and sustainability reports in the CE and CIS region for 2018. Awarded reports were chosen from 112 reports and were announced at a gala held in Zagreb, during the “Investing in Sustainability” conference organised by Deloitte.
Launched in 2000 in Deloitte Hungary, the Green Frog Awards is an annual recognition awarded by Deloitte Central Europe and other regions for the best sustainability and integrated reports. It aims at identifying and rewarding excellence in corporate non-financial and integrated reporting in Central Europe and other selected regions. It “aims at promoting sustainability as the foundation for business success.”
This year, Orange Poland won the Best integrated report award, tied with Russia’s Nornickel. “This report presents a mature approach to management and having a business model,” reads the jury’s comments, “it is comprehensive in its content, well-structured and effective in navigation.”
Pilsner Urquell, who had already won the Green Frog Award in 2015, won the Best sustainability report award for 2018. According to the jury, the Czech brewery’s report is an “example of the consequent continuation of the high reporting standards based on international standards and guidelines, presented in a creative, attractive and engaging way benefitting from current communication trends based on new technologies.”
Last year, it was CEMEX Poland who was given the prestigious award.
“By rewarding the best non-financial reports, Deloitte contributes to increasing the awareness of the benefits and business value of sustainable development,” stated Irena Pichola, leader of the Sustainability Consulting Central Europe. “Last year, 69 reports competed for the award. The total of 112 reports submitted this year set a new record.”
“The majority of reports came from Poland,” she added.
One of the “Big Four” accounting firms, along with KPMG, Ernst & Young and PwC, Deloitte is the world’s largest professional services network by revenue and number of professionals. It overtook PwC in 2017.
