Nicktoons TV channel to debut in Czech Republic next month

Prague, Czech Republic – According to Czech media, the U.S. kids pay-TV channel Nicktoons is expected to debut in the Czech Republic next month.

Aimed at a young target audience of viewers aged between 6 and 14, Nicktoons would thus considerably expand the children TV offer and the portfolio of American mass media company Viacom International Media Networks in the Czech Republic.

It would join the likes of Nickelodeon Česká republika (for kids aged 4 to 12 years old), Nick Junior Česká republika (a preschool channel for kids aged 2-6) and the non-localized Nickelodeon HD on the Czech market.

Due to be represented by Axocom on the local market, according to Broadband TV News, Nicktoons will be screening exclusive programs and animated series in Czech language produced by Nickelodeon, the first cable channel exclusively for children when it was launched forty years ago.

Launched in 1999, SpongeBob SquarePants is one of the most popular and famous children animated series produced by Nickelodeon.

Nicktoons will also offer programs out of Nickelodeon’s hit animated series – such as SpongeBob Square Pants, Kung Fu Panda, Penguins of Madagascar or Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

It will be launched as a sub-feed to Nicktoons Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), which debuted in April this year. Nicktoons has already been available in a number of other European countries, including Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria, as well as Turkey.

International versions of Nicktoons were also launched in recent years all around the globe, including in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.
